Job Role: Management Accountant

Location: Worcester

Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday

As a Management Accountant, you will contribute to our vision of being the leader of residential real estate services in the UK by:

  • Involved in the internal reporting and accounting for Innovus division within Emeria UK.
  • Being a point of contact for financial integrity of the general ledger within the responsible entities, reconciling movements in the P&L and balance sheet to underlying data.
  • This role reports to the Finance Director and has direct management of up to 2 employees.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for producing management accounts on a monthly basis for your entities, including reconciliation of balance sheet.
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts including the posting of prepayments, accruals and fixed assets. Ensuring the implications of postings are identified.
  • Working with Business Partners to ensure the correct allocation / inclusion of information within the ledgers.
  • Point of contact within the Management Accounting team for the Business Partners within the division to ensure queries and managed in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for month end reporting being completed on time, and that all transactions recorded are accurate, complete and verifiable.
  • Maintenance of the bank reconciliations, ensuring all balances are investigated and cleared on a monthly basis. Processing payments where required.
  • Responsible for balance sheet reporting, with reconciliations to underlying data and commentary to explain significant monthly movements.
  • Challenge input teams, credit control and transactional finance, to ensure balances are inline with expectation.
  • Maintain strong control framework, proposing updates for review with the Group accountants and Finance Director
  • Ensure that transactions are recorded in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist the FP&A team with inputs for the budget and ad-hoc forecasts.
  • Assist with the adherence to group accounting policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Coach and provide guidance to direct and indirect reports and help progression within the team.
  • Working with the Finance Manager and Business Partners on ad-hoc projects when required.

Experience

  • Prior experience in a working in a management accounting reporting environment.
  • Friendly professional manner, comfortable communicating with peers, other departments and external stakeholders.
  • Inquisitive nature, keen problem solver, self-starter and sense of owning workstreams.
  • Proactive and careful approach.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Workday preferable.
  • Excellent time management skills. Clear understanding of and ability to meet deadlines.
