Paraplanning Manager/ Senior Paraplanner

  • Set clear team goals and KPIs at the beginning of each month
  • Oversee day-to-day teams' operation and performance- ensure reports are checked in timely manner and this is spread out across team.
  • Create a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere
  • Communicate with teams about their performance monthly- discuss support needs and required training for anyone not meeting target
  • Motivate team members- positive/collaborative attitude
  • Liaise with Trainee Paraplanners
  • Liase with Business Quality team effectively and communicate to wider team
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders from compliance department to various external providers
  • Develop a broad knowledge of financial products including both individual and employer pension knowledge, investments, and protection products and ensure that knowledge is kept up to date personally and within the wider team
  • Drive efficiency of output
  • Manage and plan for times of high report demand

Responsibilities

  • Critically evaluate the Know Your Client information on file to identify any potential gaps or issues that could impact on the financial planning process and suitability of advice
  • Work collaboratively with advisers and other internal stakeholders to achieve good client outcomes and efficient working practices
  • Research appropriate solutions from the market effectively using qualitative and quantitative methods, in-house and third party software solutions where appropriate
  • Use in-house and external financial planning tools such as cash flow modelling and cost comparisons tools effectively, with an clear understanding of their purpose, scope and limitations
  • Obtain quotations for plans and policies using accurate information
  • Prepare personalised client facing written communications such as suitability reports, letters and annual review reports clearly and professionally
  • Ensure the client file is complete and correct, with a clear audit trail to support the advice process
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the financial services industry, regulations, products and solutions
  • Comply with all internal and regulatory procedures, processes and best practice
  • Act as a mentor to team members and trainees and actively encourage the development of their knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Maintain ongoing competence and continual professional development, using feedback to reflect on own practice
  • Maintain high standards for quality and drive best practice within the team
  • Act professionally and in line with our core values
  • Act as subject matter expert on complex cases

Support internal projects and initiatives within the business relevant to skills

The ideal person

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with both IFAs, and the rest of the team.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role within a financial services business minimum 1-3 years
  • Ability to achieve agreed outcomes without supervision
  • Prioritise and plan own workload
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience of maintaining good working relationships in the delivery of financial advice services
  • Experience in writing complex and detailed reports for cases
  • Ability to acquire update and apply new skills and knowledge
  • Proficient knowledge of Pensions and retirement planning, Investments, tax planning and regulation within the financial services industry.

Qualifications

Minimum Diploma Qualified

Chartered or working towards advantageous
