Solve the Problems That Matter Most

FinQuery helps accounting and finance teams automate complex accounting work across leases, assets, and financial obligations. As we expand our platform and invest in AI, design plays a critical role in shaping how automated work is reviewed and integrated into daily operations. Reporting to the SVP of Product, the Director of Product Design will lead our design team and collaborate directly with Product, Engineering, and accounting experts. In this hands-on leadership role, you will set direction, coach the team, and personally design our most important and ambiguous experiences.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Shape how customers navigate, find information, and complete work across our expanding platform

  • Design useful AI experiences that simplify workflows while providing necessary visibility, control, and customer trust

  • Guide critical problems from early exploration through prototypes, customer testing, and shipped experiences

  • Lead customer interviews and usability testing to build deep customer understanding and validate product decisions

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing design team through clear feedback and priority setting

  • Evolve our design system with Engineering to establish accessible components and consistent interaction patterns

  • Leverage AI tools to prototype quickly and streamline cross-functional collaboration

  • Connect design decisions to measurable outcomes like task completion, time saved, reduced errors, and adoption

The Expertise You'll Bring:

    • 8+ years of product design experience in B2B SaaS, including 2+ years managing and developing designers

    • Deep UX, interaction design, and information architecture skills across complex roles, permissions, and data structures

    • Experience leading designers while remaining an active practitioner who directly tackles complex design problems

    • Practical experience designing AI-enabled or automated workflows with sound judgment around human review and error recovery

    • Hands-on experience using AI tools in your design process for exploration and prototyping

    • Proven ability to conduct customer research and usability testing that directly influences product strategy

    • Demonstrated success building or evolving design systems alongside engineering teams

    • Strong visual judgment and attention to accessibility, content, and implementation quality

    • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence senior partners through evidence and practical reasoning

      • Bonus Points if you have

      • Experience in accounting, finance, compliance, or domain areas where accuracy and traceability matter

      • Background bringing multiple products into a shared platform or modernizing established software

      • Track record of building a design practice or establishing research and critique habits in small teams

      • Familiarity with front-end development to support rapid interaction prototyping and engineering collaboration

180000 - 200000 USD a year

The base pay range for this position is $180,000-$200,000. Please note: The final base pay for this position will be determined in FinQuery’s sole discretion consistent with applicable law, and based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant’s skills, qualifications for the role, job-related knowledge, work experience, and FinQuery’s business and other operational considerations.
