The Accounting Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position reports to the Corporate Controller

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing and supervising 2-3 staff members including reviews, hire, fire, and training.
  • Responsible for accurate & timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Responsible for driving processes improvements in the accounting department.
  • Manage the AR, Billing, G/L, Cash functions.
  • Daily monitoring of cash availability and weekly reporting of cash flow and anticipated cash flow for the month. Preparing daily bank reconciliations and following up on return items.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Post and track fixed assets, prepaid account and accruals.
  • Perform data analysis as requested.
  • Maintain vender relationships and documents.
  • Prepare and maintain deferred revenue in compliance with ASC 606
  • Answer miscellaneous inquiries from other departments.
  • Maintain 3rd party commissions
  • Assist the CFO and Controller as directed.
  • Maintain proper sales tax filing.
  • Responsible for preparation of audit requests.
  • Prepare monthly variance reports.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years accounting experience
  • 2+ years’ experience managing staff.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce and understand financial reports and specialized analysis.
  • Ability to effectively and courteously interact and communicate with customers, financial institutions, third parties and internal staff and management
  • Ability to problem solve and develop solutions to business requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete varied tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be fluent Windows user and possess experience with accounting software. SAGE 100 and/or NetSuite experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of database operation required; intermediate database knowledge preferred.
  • Experienced/Advanced Excel user
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate a plus
