The Senior PHP Developer role supports the growth and stability of the applications by designing, building, and enhancing scalable backend capabilities and data models that ensure high data quality and operational reliability. This position contributes to the effectiveness of enterprise data workflows by applying strong engineering principles, architectural thinking, and disciplined delivery practices. The Senior PHP Developer partners with different teams to translate complex business and data requirements into durable solutions, while driving continuous improvement in platform performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and data models for a Pimcore-based MDM platform
- Build and optimize PHP applications focusing on performance, scalability, and data integrity
- Design and implement APIs (REST/JSON) to support downstream systems and automation workflows
- Work with complex data structures, relationships, and lifecycle management
- Contribute to platform architecture, technical design, and code standards
- Review code, mentor team members, and enforce best practices
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in platform optimization and enhancements
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in PHP development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- Advanced proficiency in PHP and frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- Experience with Pimcore or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB)
- Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- RESTful API design and development
- Familiarity with Kafka, OpenSearch, and Graph Databases
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Performance tuning and solution architecture
- Solid understanding of web security best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
