About the Role

Are you looking for a role where you can put your exceptional martech skills to work?

As the Senior Manager Marketing Automation, you will play a critical role within Fisher Funds working across the business in our growth and retention programmes, from complex client journeys to driving our lead generation and conversion.

Reporting to the GM Marketing and leading two Marketo specialists, you’ll utilise our full stack from Marketo to Atomic to Salesforce. You’ll also bring your depth and breadth of marketing experience working closely with the GM of Marketing, Senior Manager Marketing and Communications, and our agencies, to create and execute the full range of marketing campaigns and initiatives to grow our KiwiSaver and Managed Funds portfolios.

It's a unique role with the opportunity to build on our existing strong martech stack and utilise your technical and marketing experience and skills.

You’ll bring a passion for data-driven marketing, experience in lead generation and fulfilment, and desire to work at pace in a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Innovation and Development

  • Optimise and develop the Marketo platform, including new features, enhancements, and training for key team members
  • Act as the business owner for Marketo, overseeing data infrastructure, technical support, and vendor liaison
  • Drive platform innovation aligned with business strategy, including AI, personalisation, accessibility, and martech roadmap

Marketing Automation and Campaign Execution

  • Scope, build, and execute client lifecycle automations and multi-channel campaigns (e.g. welcome, mobile app, promotions)
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver nurture programmes and customer journeys in Marketo
  • Own lead scoring models and the default engagement programme to support acquisition and retention
  • Manage direct client communications and ensure best practice execution across channels

Reporting, Data and Optimisation

  • Ensure data quality, deduplication, segmentation, and field mapping between Marketo and FSC
  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance, integrating results into central reporting systems (e.g. Power BI)
  • Collaborate with analytics to automate data flows and optimise campaign effectiveness
  • Share insights and post-campaign analysis to inform strategic improvements

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the Digital Marketing Lead and Marketing Automation Lead
  • Champion a high-performing and client-focused culture aligned with Fisher Funds values
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Digital & Data, Legal, Client, Product, IT)
  • Manage external stakeholder partnerships and align communications across teams

Skills and Experience

Marketing Automation & Data Analytics

  • Extensive experience in marketing automation, journey mapping, and campaign delivery across digital channels
  • Proven expertise in CRM systems, marketing automation platforms (e.g. Marketo Engage, Salesforce), and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Power BI)
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, behavioural marketing, and audience measurement

Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing marketing teams
  • Proven experience influencing business strategy through positive leadership and collaboration

Communication & Organisation

  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional workshops and decision-making sessions
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for effective collaboration

Solutions Design & Innovation

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering innovative, automation-led marketing solutions
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and troubleshoot platform issues
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with marketing automation trends
