The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) is an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to strengthening national capacity and regional solidarity so 17 Pacific nations can manage, control, and develop their tuna fisheries, which are essential to regional economic development and food security.
About the Opportunity
The Director – Fisheries Development Division leads and supervises the division in delivering the FFA Strategic Plan and Annual Work Programme, while supporting 17 member countries in the sustainable development of their offshore tuna fisheries. This executive leadership position is based in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Your Role
Lead and supervise the Fisheries Development Division in alignment with the Strategic Plan and Annual Work Programme.
Provide advice and support to FFA members in offshore fisheries development planning.
Deliver economic analysis, intelligence, and policy advice to support fisheries development outcomes.
Support market access, trade, investment evaluation, and investment facilitation initiatives.
Manage the implementation of donor-funded projects, including those funded by the EU, World Bank, Australia, and New Zealand.
What You Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Fisheries, Economics, Resource Management, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years' experience in fisheries development, economics, investment, or commercial fisheries.
Minimum 7 years' senior executive leadership and management experience at the national level.
Proven ability to develop high-level economic policies and provide quality analysis.
Experience working with oceanic fisheries in a regional context.
About the Benefits
Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience and includes a competitive salary ranging from USD $99,066 to USD $139,858 PLUS Allowances and a host of excellent benefits including:
