Regional Wealth Manager

About the role
As the Regional Wealth Manager for Wellington and the Lower North Island, you will lead the overall performance, growth, and operational effectiveness of the region’s Wealth teams. You will be responsible for growing the region's client base, strengthening existing client relationships, and maximising client retention, while delivering exceptional client outcomes and commercial performance.
Working closely with the Business Development Leads and Senior Wealth Advisers, you will be responsible for regional commercial performance, productivity, and advice quality. Through strong leadership, coaching, and performance management, you will build high-performing teams, maintain disciplined operational and compliance standards, and deliver outstanding client and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of financial advisers to deliver high‑quality, compliant advice
- Own the regional P&L, driving new business outcomes, revenue growth, and commercial performance
- Retain and grow the client base through strong client engagement and adviser capability uplift
- Embed strong conduct, advice quality, and regulatory standards (FSLAA, FAP obligations, Code of Conduct)
- Support advisers with complex client conversations, portfolio construction, and investment recommendations
- Analyse regional performance data and implement targeted improvement plans
- Partner with internal teams (compliance, product, operations) to ensure consistent advice practices
- Contribute to advice‑related policies, standards, and documentation
- Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in sales management, people leadership, or commercial roles
- Strong commercial acumen with experience running a P&L and driving growth outcomes
- Ability to coach and motivate advisers or sales teams to lift performance
- Experience in financial services is highly advantageous but not essential
- Strong understanding of regulated environments or willingness to quickly upskill
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
- Level 5 Financial Services Certificate (Investment Strand) or willingness to obtain it
