The Opportunity
Green Street, the preeminent provider of commercial real estate intelligence and analytics in the US, Canada and Europe, is currently seeking a Director, M&A Integration, to oversee and manage the integration process for acquired companies.
Majority owned by leading private equity firm TA Associates, Green Street’s growth strategy includes acquiring best-in class companies with high-quality products and top talent and has recently been executing against this strategy via acquisition of three companies over the last year.
As a result of increased M&A activity, the new Director, M&A Integration, will ensure that all associated activities are completed efficiently and effectively and also in alignment with Green Street’s strategic goals. Success within the position will require a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for driving successful M&A integrations. The ideal candidate must have significant experience in M&A, with a proven track record leading to successful integrations.
Responsibilities
- This role will be accountable and responsible for driving performance and effectiveness for all M&A integrations and will work closely with executive leadership, business transformation, functional teams, and external stakeholders to achieve integration objectives and maximize value creation.
- Develop and implement comprehensive M&A integration plans: - Define integration objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables: - Identify key workstreams, allocate and manage resources accordingly
- Lead and manage cross-functional integration teams: - Provide strategic guidance and support throughout the integration process - Foster collaboration and alignment across functional teams - Ensure effective communication and change management strategies are in place
- Drive operational excellence and synergies: - Define with stakeholders function/department integration/operational KPIs to benchmark against - Identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiencies - Align business processes, systems, and cultures to achieve synergies - Oversee the integration of key functions, such as finance, HR, IT, sales, and operations
- Monitor and report on integration progress: - Track and evaluate integration milestones and KPIs - Identify and address any issues or roadblocks - Provide regular scorecards, updates, and recommendations to executive leadership
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners: - Collaborate with external consultants, advisors, and legal teams - Leverage external expertise to support integration efforts
- Develop and refine integration best practices: - Continuously evaluate and refine integration processes and methodologies - Share lessons learned and best practices across the organization - Drive a culture of continuous improvement in M&A integration - Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and anticipate future challenges and opportunities
- Stakeholder Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, functional teams, external partners, and consultants - Effectively communicate integration progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Decision-Making: - Make informed and timely decisions based on a thorough analysis of available information and consideration of potential risks and impacts
- Collaboration and Influence: - Collaborate effectively across functions and teams, leveraging your expertise and experience to influence decision-making and drive alignment
- Results Orientation: - Demonstrate a strong focus on achieving results and delivering value - Drive a sense of urgency and accountability to meet integration objectives
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. MBA not required but a plus
- Certifications in M&A integration or project management welcome, but not required
- 5-7 years of successful experience leading M&A integrations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to foster relationships with staff and stakeholders.
