Description

Green Street (GS) seeks to recruit an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to support our newly acquired and growing team based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

With business plans to establish a European Center of Excellence (COE) underway, we will build upon our Bulgarian business presence (~20 employees) recently established as part of the acquisition of IJ Global by Green Street. We are currently in the process of identifying and installing COE leader(s) for EU data collection as well as implementing Phase 1 of our Technology Scale which requires the hiring of ~50 Engineers.

The People & Culture Business Partner will work closely with local leadership based in our Sofia office and will report to the VP, People & Culture in the UK. They will play a critical role in supporting growth objectives.

This position spans a broad range of responsibilities, including counsel to the leaders in Bulgaria especially pertaining to matters of performance management, recruiting, organizational and leadership development, talent management, employee relations and total rewards.

This is a standalone role in Bulgaria and the candidate will need to be an experienced generalist, with working knowledge of Bulgarian employment law and both practical knowledge and experience in all the main HR lifecycle processes and procedures e.g. recruitment, onboarding, performance improvement plans, formal disciplinaries, redundancies, compensation and benefits.

  • Reports to: VP, People & Culture - UK
  • Other key relationships: Regional leaders; Regional People & Culture team; Group People & Culture team – US, and Senior Leadership Team

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day leadership and management over local HR operations and programs, reflecting the mission, business goals, and core values of the company.
  • Acts as HR business partner to local leaders by advising and partnering in talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement and career development.
  • Champions the company culture and fosters a collaborative, results-focused and inclusive environment.
  • Ensures compliance with international and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handles local employee relations matters in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Helps to build and implement leading HR policies and practices to support global growth
  • Drives local talent acquisition and implements critical activities including defining job specs, sourcing talent, hiring, onboarding and training in line with global processes.
  • Ensures operational resources are appropriate and scalable to support growth and expansion plans, including managing HR outside vendors.
  • Partners with local leadership and global/regional HR to ensure effective communications.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization as a strategic contributor by providing thought leadership, best practices and continuous improvement
  • Helps with diligence on potential acquisitions and integration thereafter as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Authorization to work in Bulgaria now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements

Ideal Experience

  • Human resources leadership/business partner experience: Experience partnering with and advising business leaders in a fast-paced, global environment. Brings an understanding of how talent and culture fits with strategy.
  • Organisational development: Experience working in a high-growth or start-up/entrepreneurial environment preferred. Experience helping an organization to integrate after an acquisition.
  • Talent acquisition experience: Deep knowledge of Bulgarian recruiting processes, tools and technology; employment branding and candidate experience. Demonstrated success in accelerating efforts and outcomes in recruiting talent across an organization is desired.
  • Change management experience: Hands-on experience working on the HR aspects of change management will be important. Prior experience operating in a leveraged private equity context is preferred.
  • Global experience: Experience working with a global workforce – preferably coupled with experience of a growing matrixed structure where teams are distributed across the globe.

  • Degree in Human Resources, CIPD Level 7 or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Strong knowledge of Bulgarian employment law
  • Excellent command of English language, both spoken and written
  • Detail-oriented and engaging with a clear communication style.
  • Ready to do, as well as to manage.
  • Able to articulate the vision of the organization and the industry, both internally and externally, in a manner that commands assent, enthusiasm and acceptance.
  • Flexible in style and approach, as well as adaptable to rapidly changing business priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a firm deadline/tomorrow is too late environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, AI, talent acquisition systems
