Position Overview
From our London office in the heart of Mayfair, you’ll play a key role in prospecting new business for the UK Advisory & Consulting Services team. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative to help identify new business opportunities and build strategic partnerships specifically in relation to our Advisory service. You will be a natural relationship builder, highly motivated and with a high level of intellectual curiosity, especially in the real asset sector of financial services.
Job Responsibilities
Management of Internal Relationships
- Maintain internal relationships with the Commercial, Events and News departments to increase internal referrals to Advisory and to improve cross-selling opportunities
- Manage, monitor, and track referrals made from internal departments to Advisory
- Organise and participate in regular sales training, educational workshops, and business development update meetings to ensure internal departments have a solid understanding of Advisory’s service offerings, recent client engagements, and business development activities
Business Development Administration
- Assist Advisory’s senior team members with the development of sales processes, CRM infrastructure, sales training, and other key initiatives to improve the resources and sales strategies for the team
- Facilitate improvements in marketing materials, standardized pitch books, website, and other marketing avenues that maximize Advisory’s positioning with its targeted client base
- Monitor Advisory pipeline and report on activities within the CRM application and produce reports on outreach activity, conversion success rates, tracking vs budget, etc.
Business Development Outreach
- Develop an advanced understanding of our Advisory service and the prospects/companies who would use our service
- Oversee day-to-day execution of client outreach including sales trips, Advisory-hosted events, industry conferences, conference calls, and other activities that promotes the team
- Identification of prospective new clients (through review of trade press, analysis of deal activity / capital raising, etc.)
- Initial outreach to these groups (by email and/or phone) to prospect a meeting with the Advisory team. Using LinkedIn, Salesforce, Preqin, social media and other tools at your disposal to find and contact decision makers
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations and proposals to business prospects
Candidate Profile
- Preferably 2 years+ experience in B2B business development and preferably in a professional services environment
- Bachelor’s degree desirable
- Basic understanding of the financial services sector
- A keen interest in the data economy, and broader business affairs
- Proven ability to prioritise and multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, positive and professional in both approach and appearance
- Self-motivated, proactive and flexible
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization
In addition to a basic salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
