Description
Healix Infusion Therapy, LLC is currently seeking a qualified remote full-time Reimbursement Specialist to join our corporate business office and Business Office Team. Currently, the position is a remote work arrangement and qualified candidates must have access to home internet and a dedicated work space free from distractions. Team members must have excellent communication skills and be able to professionally interact with patients, clients, and colleagues.
Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:30am to 5:30pm CST
*Work hours are subject to change based on business needs and with supervisor approval.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review aging reports with management to prioritize aged and high dollar claim resolution.
- Analyze, identify, and communicate trends from aging report that indicate non-payment or slow reimbursement associated with specific payors, therapies, patient accounts and/or clients.
- Responsible for the follow-up of designated accounts.
- Review claim EOBs and correspondence to resolve unpaid claims.
- Follow up and resolve unpaid/short paid insurance balances with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance companies via payor portals, phone, fax, and/or mail.
- Identify and communicate payment and denial trends related to specific payors, providers, patients, and/or therapies to expedite timely resolution and improve cash velocity.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve billing or payment errors, making corrections when applicable, for proper claim adjudication and reimbursement.
- Prepare and submit appeals to overturn payor denials and partial payments.
- Receive, investigate, and respond timely to inquiries from payors, including, but not limited to audit and medical records requests.
- Proactively seeks resolution to billing issues that may arise and communicate findings to management and billing team.
- Create Ad hoc reports as needed, distributing them to requesting party.
- Special Projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum of two years of related experience in a medical or business office environment.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting and Accounts Receivable follow-up preferred; Experience in Infusion billing and collections strongly preferred.
- Understanding of medical insurance and State/Federal Healthcare laws/guidelines.
- Reliable team player with commitment to internal and external customer service.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
- Ability to learn quickly, work with minimal supervision and manage shifting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Education and Experience Required
- Four-year college degree preferred. Two to three years in electronic claims submission and medical collections preferred.
License and Certifications
