Job Overview

The Director, Product Management will deploy their skills to solve, and ultimately own, the operational vision, planning, execution and leadership of the Product Management team. This individual leads the product team members, through Agile planning, to ensure continuous value to our customers.They will be responsible for planning and operational processes to deliver on the Product Roadmap, while balancing internal and external customer requirements. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative, who can proactively identify issues/opportunities, and recommend appropriate course of actions. This role will come to understand vision and priority of product investments as defined by the Portfolio Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Drives release planning and coordinates with the agile development and release management teams to define the execution plans for the product releases.
  • Provides planning and operational processes to manage the Product Backlog for the assigned products.
  • Define EPIC’s, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria. Ensures the development teams understand items in the product backlog to the level needed.
  • Ensures the product backlog is visible and transparent to all, and shows what the Agile team will work on next.
  • Validate usability research findings; product value, UX design and persona goals.
  • Supports customer issues, demonstrations and on-site visits through allocation of team resources.
  • Ensures process documents are complete, current, communicated and stored appropriately.
  • Own overall operational management of the department. Partners with VP to build operational plans in collaboration with Technology leadership colleagues.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer science or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product management with at least 5 years of direct management of a team.
  • Able to lead across multiple teams. Supervise projects outside of the department.
  • Displayed ability to shape customer decisions acting in consultative role.
  • Actively facilitates improvement at the department level to improve customer relations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, changing environment that is going through high growth

Preferred

  • Strong product and industry knowledge. Previous experience working for a software or technology company preferred
