Job Overview

As a member of the iCIMS legal team, you will have a direct impact by advising and supporting all areas of our procurement practice within the organization as we continue to transform recruiting with the iCIMS Talent Cloud. Our new team in India needs a leader that is a creative problem-solver who’s cool under pressure and brings exceptional judgment and creativity to devise practical advice that appropriately weighs our legal and business objectives. You’ll help us negotiate complex procurement technology and other agreements and issues relating to data privacy and security matters with name brand, global organizations, supporting all departments, including our labs organization, product, internal corporate technology services, marketing, finance, and talent. This role works closely with our key partners across our product teams, professional services, marketing, and talent to support their needs and help us develop and implement new products and business initiatives.

This position will be based out of our Hyderabad, India office.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership to ensure that objectives are met while also ensuring alignment and support of all customers connected with the organization.
  • Maintain a high-performance team and work environment enabling operational objectives and acquisition/retention of people resources to fulfill team mission successfully.
  • Develop team members’ performance including formal reviews, establishing departmental and individual objectives and performing applicable assessments.
  • Responsible for developing team members and providing professional guidance and coaching to ensure proper career development.
  • Provide reports on team metrics, KPIs and results to department leadership and stakeholders.
  • In partnership with the Deputy General Counsel, help to establish annual team objectives in alignment with overall departmental objectives.
  • Create, update, and revise departmental processes and policies with Deputy General Counsel (or above) approval.
  • Lead and mentor both direct and indirect reports with the goal of improving professional expertise, fulfillment of departmental objectives, and employee engagement.
  • Provide planning and prioritization for team resources and delegate and assign projects, duties, and objectives.
  • Contributes to building and improving process efficiencies within the procurement function and the team.
  • Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with iCIMS policies, procedures, and core competencies.

Operational Leadership

  • Draft, revise, negotiate and provide contracting support for complex global vendor contracts.
  • Liaise with the procurement, privacy, and information security teams with respect to compliance and other requirements contracts.
  • Review, update, and maintain the procurement and vendor agreement templates in line with market practice and iCIMS’ legal and business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder partners to ensure appropriate awareness and escalation of issues as they arise.
  • Act as an advisor to internal customers, including leadership, on a variety of legal matters.
  • Partner with other members of the General Counsel’s Office and cross-departmental partners to provide guidance and support execution of strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the procurement organization to drive optimizations to improve the vendor contracts process.
  • Create contract abstracts and risk summaries as needed.
  • Participate in annual risk management assessment and remediation plans.
  • Support other strategic projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience negotiating complex software as a service, software licensing, professional services, and/or other technology transactions is required. 10+ years of related experience is preferred. Some experience in leadership or people management strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree and LL.B. degree from a law school accredited by the Bar Council of India is required.
  • Member in good standing with the Bar Council of India is required.
  • Admitted as an Advocate by the Bar Counsel of India and has a Certificate of Practice.
  • Ability to handle complex contracting issues while balancing a positive internal partner and external vendor experience.
  • Experience in researching and analyzing federal, state, local and international laws.
  • Ability to work independently, while being a collaborative member of the team.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with the management team, and company employees.
  • Ability to mentor peers in areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrated success in displaying passion, drive, adaptability and innovation.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite.
  • Driven and passionate about leading, motivating, and mentoring a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growing organization.
  • Consistent track record of success in building solid working relationships within various areas/business functions of the company.
