Job Description

As a Lead UX Designer, you contribute to IFS Cloud - user experience for the most recent IFS products, including framework and a suite of business applications. They will be expected to work on the verge of technology and design, mainly contributing to the IFS Design System and UI component Library.

This implies

  • contributing to the creation and improvement of the design guidelines and principles
  • mapping and introducing steps necessary for our product to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.x Level AA or equivalent
  • collaborating with developers and designers to ensure that our IFS Design System and UI component Library have accessibility support
  • collaborating with developers and designers to ensure that the design packages (UI components, design tokens, icon fonts, etc.) we develop are fully compatible with IFS software products and frameworks developed using technologies like Angular, React, etc.
  • taking part in product research, validating the designs with user tests
  • promoting design thinking on the corporate level
  • educating, inspiring, and motivating product teams and stakeholders through engaging presentations

All this to create usable, enjoyable, fit-for-purpose, enterprise-grade software.

Qualifications

You are a creative person who also possesses a high degree of technical understanding, logical thinking, ability to understand complex systems and processes, and at least 7-10 years of experience in the UX field. You are passionate about accessibility and inclusive design.

Hopefully, you are fluent in existing design methodologies (including lean UX, agile UX, and design sprints), have a deep understanding of the design process as a whole, and have proven experience in successfully contributing to the Design System and UI Web Component library.

You are also proficient in collaborative interface design tools and perhaps other graphics editors and prototyping/wireframing software (we use Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Zeroheight for Design System). You are aware of current trends in visual communication and have a solid understanding of design principles (e.g., info hierarchy, layout, typography, color). At the same time, you understand developer work and are somewhat familiar with the related toolkit as well (Angular / Visual Studio Code / Storybook).
