Job Description

WorkWave is a field service management software that provides SaaS solutions for businesses in the service industry (HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical, Cleaning, Lawn & Landscape, Home Delivery, Logistics & Distribution). We empower these businesses to deliver exceptional customer experiences and grow their customer base on our efficient and easy-to-use platform.

WorkWave Team is looking for a talented and experienced Lead UX Designer to join our dynamic team to help transform how our mobile products look and feel and create excellent user experiences. As the Lead UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience, driving innovation, and delivering intuitive and engaging mobile experiences for our users. Our teams are a mix of technologists, product managers, software engineers, QA Engineers, UI/UX designers, TechOps, and DevOps, all working together to deliver our vision.

Responsibilities

  • Work largely asynchronously with a design manager and the globally distributed cross-functional product team

  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional product team to design modern mobile SaaS applications for our customers in field service businesses.

  • Solve design problems from start to finish and fully understand what we’re solving for!

  • Partner with Product Management to plan stories, implement designs, iterate, and track changes.

  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI designs, user flows, and interactive prototypes.

  • Effectively communicate about designs with stakeholders.

  • Help develop and maintain a design system.

  • Be an advocate for our users and an evangelist for user-centered and design thinking processes.

  • Actively research and stay abreast of UX topics and relevant technology trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience, including designing business-oriented mobile web applications that leverage emerging technologies.

  • Solid UX design skills and an English portfolio or samples illustrating your UI work.

  • Very strong Figma skills, including advanced component building and familiarity with variables.

  • The ability to work asynchronously with a global team while remaining actively involved and making an impact.

  • Knowledge of design systems.

  • Expert knowledge of industry-standard design and collaboration tools such as Figma.

  • A portfolio illustrating your UX work, including wireframes, visual design, flows, and related deliverables.

  • An unrelenting need to solve problems and validate your ideas and the personal drive and proactive attitude required to self-manage and facilitate design activities.

  • Experience designing for SaaS, and knowledge of Google’s Material design system are huge plusses.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
