Job Description
The Security, Performance & Observability team makes sure IFS Cloud services are provided on a solid platform. Key focus areas are authentication capabilities, setting up of user access rights for the system, monitoring and performance. This team has strong expertise around driving the performance analysis of IFS Application, middleware server and database.
Currently we are focused on growing the team with an abundance of impactful opportunities.
As a DevOps engineer in our team, you will
- Develop and maintain monitoring and logging solution for IFS remote deployments
- Recommending best monitoring/logging practices for IFS development teams
- Engage in investigating performance issues related to customers and provide recommendations
- Performance testing, tuning, sizing and benchmarking of IFS cloud/ remote deployments and platform and Microservices
- Identify opportunities to automate monitoring, logging, and alerting on cloud/remote deployment/Kubernetes platforms
- Create documentation, presentation, and training material
- Engage with relevant stakeholders
- Share knowledge, guide, and train colleagues
Qualifications
Required competence
- A University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in software/system engineering or IT operations
- 4+ years of experience around most of the below skills – ideally in an agile environment
- Knowledge in Cloud platforms (eg: Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge in ELK stack / EFK stack
- Knowledge in Kube-Prometheus
- Experience with Linux and fundamentals of Networking
- Experience with performance testing using LoadRunner or JMeter
- Source code management skills - Git/Bitbucket
- A natural desire to discover and learn new technologies and processes
- Ability to prioritize and work as a team and independently
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Work with a geographically dispersed team to ensure continuity of support and expertise
Desirable competence
- Observability experience in automated monitoring, logging, and alerting on cloud/Kubernetes Platforms hosting microservices
- A mindset to have Infrastructure As A Code (IAAC) and manage configurations through CI/CD approaches
- Experience in Performance testing, tuning, sizing, and benchmarking of Cloud and platform and containerized microservices
