Job Description

You will be a part of the Research and Development organization and serve as the “two-way translator” between our Development team and our Customers, Partners, and the Market in general. In this role you will build and evangelize compelling product visions, define strategies, set roadmap priorities, and establish differentiated value propositions. Travelling outside Sri Lanka is necessary. Sound interesting? Then join us as our new Product Manager for Projects solution.

As Product Manager you shepherd our product investments from conception through to retirement. You will manage the product offering within the Projects domain, ensuring that it contributes to securing overall market success. The primary focus is understanding project-centric business models, operations and market needs coming from prospects and customers across our six target industries. You will continuously engage with the market to build investment cases with crisp and differentiated value propositions, and in alignment with the IFS overall vision and strategy. Once you set the investment goals, you will work closely with our Program Management and development teams to ensure the solution delivers on those goals. In parallel you will support our marketing, sales, and consulting organizations in articulating the added value that those investments bring to our product offering and to our customers.

Qualifications

As a Product Manager at IFS, you will be expected to:

  • Collect, analyze, and define customer and market needs for target industries and audiences.
  • Contribute to competitive intelligence insights.
  • Identify and define product differentiators and unique selling points that makes IFS stand out from competition and market in general.
  • Set clear and value-driven priorities for all investment cases.
  • Convert business needs into product investment proposals, product roadmaps, strategy and vision statements.
  • Have domain and functional knowledge of ERP applications and Project-centric capabilities.
  • Build customer and market value propositions for investment cases.
  • Contribute to development of monetization strategies, product packaging and pricing.
  • Proficient presenter, inspiring others by using storytelling and expertise to showcase how customers benefit from using our products and technologies.
  • Present vision, strategy, and roadmap to different stakeholders
  • Interact, share knowledge and expertise to create a collective understanding of customer needs, challenges and opportunities in our target industries and market.
  • Review software designs for fit to market and engineering value proposition.
  • Work closely with Program Managers to secure that the intended value of investments is realized.
  • Enable product marketing functions with product and technology messaging and marketing material.
  • Support sales and pre-sales with sales collateral, and selectively participate in sales cases.
  • Participate in customer escalations and be part of driving the process toward resolutions
  • Monitors financial performance for consideration in investment decision making.
  • Create positive market attention for product and technologies across prospects, customers, analysts and journalists.
