Job Description

The Quality Engineering Office (QEO) at IFS ensures top-tier quality, tooling & reporting, and infrastructure across R&D. Our mission is to drive software quality through robust tooling, innovative testing, and advanced automation. We enable the R&D teams to improve software reliability and efficiency.

We are looking for a Program Manager based in Sri Lanka to join our team in R&D. You will be leading and driving the quality excellence initiatives within the team to shape the future of quality assurance at R&D. You will collaborate with quality assurance leads, software engineering leads, the engineering excellence team, and program managers to build strong relationships, understand their perspectives, and achieve quality assurance excellence. You will sometimes work with teams outside R&D to support tasks and uphold organizational policies.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of quality assurance and engineering throughout the software development lifecycle. Strong technical knowledge is a plus for better collaboration with other teams.

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, offer guidance and direction to team members, and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Additionally, they should excel in managing change and have a proven capability to prioritize tasks, negotiate effectively, and resolve conflicts efficiently.

This is a full-time role with the opportunity to work with a diverse team globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and be accountable for deployment of quality engineering initiatives.

  • Drive the improvement and streamlining of QA processes, systems, and data analytics.

  • Working with the engineering excellence team and 7-Stages Development Process leads to integrating quality engineering into R&D practices.

  • Proactively enhance existing quality practices in a purposeful, structured and independent manner.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for alignment.

  • Support training sessions, identify gaps, and develop guidelines.

  • Provide input to the quality engineering roadmap for R&D.

  • Convert investment cases into action plans and clear direction to the team.

Qualifications

  • University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications.

  • Minimum 5 years of program or project management, ideally in the QA/QE pillar.

  • Strong domain knowledge in QA (mandatory) and experience in software engineering design and development (preferred).

  • Self-driven, visionary mindset with the ability to take ownership of initiatives and drive them to success.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills – able to engage, influence, and align multiple teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Professional qualifications in project management would be an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of agile practices.
