Job Description

At IFS R&D, our DevOps Engineers play a pivotal role in ensuring that our software solutions are not only functional but also reliable and efficient in production without compromising the quality.

As a Senior or Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the test infrastructure ecosystem, including e.g environment provisioning, maintenance, and CI/CD pipelines. You will take the lead in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure solutions that enhance automation, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless integration across development, testing, and deployment workflows. Your work will play a critical role in strengthening the security, reliability, and resilience of our operational platforms while supporting a robust and streamlined software delivery process.

You will also drive the innovation across the DevOps team, and groom and mentor the other DevOps engineers to maintain a high performing DevOps team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and drive the vision for the DevOps architecture by designing them into the future with modern technologies.

  • Develop a strategy for DevOps operations in the Quality Engineering Office team that comprises test infrastructure and pipelines. This includes establishing best practices, governance, and security guidelines for infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and test environments across the testing infrastructure ecosystem as well as designing and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions while optimizing cost efficiency for cloud resources, test environments, and DevOps and other test visualization tools.

  • Work closely with the internal team, including software engineers, QA and DevOps engineers, and program managers, as well as other key stakeholders, to align internal plans with organizational goals.

  • Capability to navigate through Azure services and infrastructure. Capability to develop observability and monitoring to achieve resiliency KPIs. This includes the capability to implement robust disaster recovery strategies and automate failover mechanisms.

  • Design, implement, and manage the chaos engineering pipelines with continuous improvement strategies, while providing architectural and strategic support for production deployment.

  • Identify opportunities for new or enhanced automations to drive efficiencies within the organization, producing designs and plans to address those opportunities.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including processes, tools, and training materials, to support system reliability and automation initiatives.

  • Proactively monitor central testing infrastructure, applications, and databases to identify and resolve issues before they affect production environments.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by sharing insights, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to market research and competitive analysis efforts.

Qualifications

  • University or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology.

  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based multi-tenant infrastructure in hyperscale environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, MongoDB, and Kafka.

  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

  • Exposure to GitOps with Argo CD or Flux CD.

  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar languages.

  • Operational expertise with Linux systems and cloud monitoring tools.

  • Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and/or Azure Pipelines.

  • Exposure to monitoring/observability tools and strategies for cloud infrastructure, applications, and databases.

  • Passion for learning new technologies, solving challenges, and enhancing process reliability.
