Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented System Engineer to :-
Administer and configure Jira, Confluence and other Atlassian tools when needed.
Manage user access, permissions, and group configurations.
Implement and maintain workflows, automations, and integrations.
Install, configure, and manage Atlassian plugins.
Monitor system health, performance, and troubleshoot issues.
Support migrations, upgrades, and system maintenance.
Support ServiceNow integrations with other enterprise tools.
Troubleshoot incidents and service requests related to the platform.
Key Responsibilities
User Access Management
- Create and manage Jira user accounts, ensuring appropriate access levels and roles are assigned.
- Implement, monitor, and update permissions schemes, groups, projects and roles to align with organizational structures and requirements.
- Perform periodic audits of user access to ensure compliance and up to date user management.
Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide prompt support to users facing access-related issues role adjustments, permission conflicts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for access-related queries and incidents of Jira.
Integration & Collaboration
- Work with project administrators if they need any support.
- Coordinate with other tool administrators (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket) to manage integrated access requirements.
System Maintenance
- Assist in system upgrades, plugin installations as they relate to user access and permissions.
- Monitor Jira usage to identify and resolve access-related anomalies or conflicts.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience managing user access and permissions in Jira.
- Strong understanding of Jira’s permission schemes, roles, and group management.
- Familiarity with Jira Software, and Jira Service Management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving access and permission-related issues.
- Basic knowledge of IT security practices and user management policies.
- Jira certifications (e.g., Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator) will be added advantage
- Familiarity with tools for auditing and reporting access activities.
- Strong knowledge of Jira workflows, scripting (JavaScript), API integrations, and plugin management, business rules, scripts, UI policies)
- Familiarity with ITSM processes, automation, and integrations.
- Knowledge of SSO, SAML, LDAP, and security configurations.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive user data with confidentiality and integrity.
