Job Description

An Accounts Payable Senior Executive at IFS is responsible to review operational process deliveries and investigate any system or process flow related issues reported by IFS suppliers and local finance teams. An understanding of the various local taxation requirements will also be important but will be developed. Upon investigation, the JD includes proposing process flow corrections and best practices to ensure a smooth flow of Accounts Payable operations. An understanding of the various local taxation requirements will also be important which will be developed over time.

In addition, this role includes testing on system enhancements and working closely alongside procurement and the related IT teams to ensure the deliverables are complete. Following which relevant documentation need to put in place, reviewed, and finalized for the benefit of the larger Accounts Payable team. Furthermore, this role is a key contributor in facilitating internal trainings within the shared service center and giving insight and feedback on all ideas proposed for improvement of the processes.

Primary job role:

• Daily reporting on process management and statistical data that feed into Monthly reporting information.
• Assist in clearing any escalations and unreconciled items from internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other finance and operational teams to ensure that invoice submission instructions are followed in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Ensure that appropriate accounting entries are recorded for all invoices raised in accordance with IFRS and IFS policies and processes.
• Responsible for timely and accurate processing and review of invoices from both external and internal suppliers to support Europe based IFS entities.
• Focused on understanding the procurement to pay life cycle and ensuring timely readiness for payment, with relevant internal controls being followed.
• Continuously expand the business process domain knowledge and shares this knowledge to guide others.
• Investigate and resolve any internal or external enquires related to supplier invoices.
• Performs all activities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Accounts payable related month end activity procedures and support in both internal and external audits.
• Ensure lowest levels of late interest fees and penalties that could be caused by delays from AP.
• Initiate and in process improvement opportunities and initiate relevant cost reduction practices to drive efficiency.
• Continuously expanding your functional and technical domain knowledge is a very important part of being at IFS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in accounts payable or similar roles, with a solid understanding of AP processes and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and AP best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions for reporting and analysis) and familiarity with ERP systems (experience with SAP, Oracle, or IFS is a plus).
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to handle complex and high-volume transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Experience in a multinational or high-volume AP environment.
• Experience with audit support.
• Previous experience mentoring or training junior team members.
