Job Description

Data Supervisor manages, directs, and oversees a Tobin data product and its ongoing maintenance. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the data product and its production is timely, complete, consistent, accurate, and is maintained at the highest quality. The Supervisor will serve as a high-performance champion driving performance management, accountability, and results. This individual will act as a coach or mentor ensuring proper investment in the professional growth of their direct reports. This individual must be flexible and committed, have proven leadership, communication and organizational skills, and be willing and able to focus on both internal and external customer service to meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, hire, develop, and manage a team of data and/or GIS professionals ensuring high performance

  • Attract and retain key talent and create an environment within data operations that fosters employee engagement, diversity, development, and employee satisfaction

  • Develop, execute, monitor, and lead data product team strategies, tactics, measurements, and operational processes to deliver business results

  • Support both external and internal customer needs in a timely manner and to establish product requirements

  • Interface with outside influence groups to establish product requirements

  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones

  • Confer with other managers and senior leaders on integration and infrastructure requirements

  • Lead in the creation of workflow/process/training documents

  • Augment and/or support Data Sales (or Data Manager) by attending client meetings to present product “value add”

  • Work with Product Managers and actively participate in P2 Tobin data strategy meetings and/or working groups to set direction for entire data product portfolio

  • Understand key data governance and data quality concepts/practices and be able to communicate them in layman’s terms

  • Exposure to, or understanding of, oil and gas mineral leasing; state, federal, or local regulatory well life cycles; Texas, Carter, and Jeffersonian land survey systems; and upstream oil and gas exploration

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and business communication skills; strong collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or geographic system (GIS) related fields

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years work experience with geospatial or data-centric enterprise environments

  • Demonstrated ability to grow talent and motivate Data and/ or GIS professionals

  • Active experience engaging internal or external customers to understand business needs and ensure product satisfaction

  • Able to work / be available a couple hours a day that overlap with US Business Hours is a must.
