Job Description

The Group IFRS Accounting Manager, as part of our Group Accounting Team, will provide expert technical accounting advice and accounting policy expertise across the IFS Group to ensure the Group is compliant with IFRS Accounting standards. it will also ensure new reporting needs are timely and accurately implemented across all areas of the IFS Group incl. the financial reporting. Will also be working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to conclude on the correct treatment for complex transactions that require a high level of accounting judgment. In addition, the role will identify opportunities to leverage AI for automation of IFRS compliance checks and intelligent document review to improve accuracy and speed of technical accounting processes.

  • Provide expert technical accounting advice and ensure the Group is compliant with IFRS
  • Ensure new IFRS requirements are timely and accurately implemented across all impacted areas in the IFS Group incl. the financial reporting
  • Key contact for Finance and the wider business to assess the accounting treatment of proposed transactions under IFRS across the IFS Group
  • Complete ownership and management of Group accounting policies under IFRS, review/update current policies and identify the need for new accounting policies as well
  • Undertake and manage technical accounting analysis on proposed corporate transactions e.g., merger and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, R&D capitalisation, Non-GAAP measure etc
  • Ensure transactions and other accounting judgments are documented in a clear and consistent manner with sufficient evidence to support the accounting treatment
  • Ensure such documentation is reviewed internally by all agreed internal stakeholders as required prior formal communication
  • Liaise with Group’s external auditors to ensure they agree with our judgements/conclusions
  • Ensure complete understanding and complying with the Group Accounting risks/controls
  • Reply to local Finance teams on queries under local reporting where possible
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements as necessary
  • Enable tax reporting, audit queries and other year end obligations
  • Provide technical accounting training, including materials, to colleagues when needed
  • Identify and implement AI tools for automating IFRS compliance checks, policy updates and overall technical accounting process
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to integrate AI solutions into existing accounting workflows

Qualifications

Overall required competence:

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and hit the ground running
  • Willingness to work outside of comfort zone
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Understanding of AI applications in finance and accounting
  • Ability to evaluate and adopt AI tools for technical accounting process improvement

Required education & experience:

  • Qualified Accountant or local equivalent
  • Specialist knowledge of applying IFRS and GAAP
  • Previous technical accounting expertise from BIG 4 or IT industry
  • Fluency in business-level English language
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP/Swedish GAAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of IFS Cloud preferred
  • Exposure to AI driven financial tools or willingness to upskill in AI technologies
