Job Description
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop deep expertise across quotation-to-cash (Q2C), revenue recognition, and monthly financial reporting within a dynamic, fast-growing global organization.

As a Senior Accountant - Q2C, you will play a critical role in supporting the end-to-end quotation-to-cash process, ensuring accurate sales order processing, contract bookings, revenue recognition, customer invoicing and receivables management. In parallel, you will contribute to monthly closing, management reporting, and balance sheet integrity for the Japan entity.
The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Deal Desk, and Group Finance, and is well-suited for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of commercial operations and financial control.
The key areas of responsibility:
Q2C
- Support the end-to-end quotation-to-cash (Q2C) process, covering sales order processing in MCM ("Maintenance Contract Management" system), subscriptions vouchers, contract bookings, customer invoicing and revenue recognition
- Review sales orders and subscription vouchers to ensure accurate setup in MCM, contract structure, indexations, billing schedules, and service periods
- Ensure subscription vouchers are correctly created, maintained, and applied to customer contracts in line with commercial terms and Group policies
- Monitor subscription lifecycle events (e.g. start, renewal, amendment, termination) and ensure timely and accurate billing and revenue alignment
- Ensure contract bookings are complete, accurate, and properly reflected in bookings and revenue streams
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and IFRS 15 revenue recognition
- Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing, including resolution of billing issues and coordination with Sales
- Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and contract assets, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, and Group Finance, to resolve Q2C issues related to deal structure, subscription setup. To act as a key finance point of contact for Q2C matters in Japan
- Support continuous improvement of Q2C and subscription controls, documentation, and processes, ensuring scalability and audit readiness
Balance Sheet
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, with a focus on Q2C-related accounts.
- Reconcile accounts receivable, deferred revenue, contract assets, accruals, and tax balances
- Ensure documentation and controls are audit-ready
Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities in line with Group timelines
- Support monthly forecasting and budget tracking, including variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and IFRS
- Assist with documentation related to revenue and intercompany transactions
Tax, Audit & Compliance Support
- Support consumption tax (VAT) and withholding tax reconciliations related to billing and revenue
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors on Q2C-related topics
- Support statutory audits and internal reviews by preparing schedules and explanations
Change Management & Ad-hoc Support
- Support change management initiatives, ensure smooth adoption of any new financial processes.
- Support process improvements across Q2C, billing, and reporting
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support process to the Finance Director as required
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
and/or 8+ years of relevant experience as an Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, or Auditor - CPA, ACCA, JICPA or an equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally supporting order-to-cash / quotation-to-cash (Q2C), billing, or revenue processes
- Experience handling subscription-based or contract-driven transactions is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
- Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
- Experience in the IT software, SaaS, or B2B environments is a plus
