Job Description
At IFS as the Director of Solutions Consulting – Europe for IFS Copperleaf, you will lead and develop the European Solutions Consulting team, serving as both a strategic leader and a hands-on technical advisor throughout the sales cycle. Working with sales leadership, prospects and clients, you will drive compelling solutions using the IFS Copperleaf decision analytics platform—through your team’s collective impact and your own direct involvement.
You will set the standard for how the team engages C-level executives, technical management and architectural teams, positioning IFS Copperleaf as the partner of choice across our core verticals. You will coach and develop your team to do the same.
This is a dual role—leading a distributed team while staying close to the technical detail on your own deals. Your team’s activities include:
Performing discoveries and designing business cases
Delivering product demos and executive briefings (virtual and on-site)
Designing enterprise-level technology solutions
Providing technical leadership in the sales process
Engaging with the industry at external events
Previous experience leading presales, consulting or solution design teams is strongly preferred. Background with enterprise software (SAP, Oracle, IBM) or technology solutions in Energy & Utilities, Water, Manufacturing or Transportation will be highly regarded.
Location
Your role will be based out of your home office, an IFS office in Europe (if available), and client/prospect sites across the European region
You can expect to travel approximately 30–50% of the time visiting clients and prospects across the UK & Ireland, DACH, Benelux, France, Italy, and the Nordics
Responsibilities
Reporting to the VP of Pre-Sales, you will:
Lead ~9 Solutions Consultants across Northern, Central, and Southern Europe
Represent Solutions Consulting on the European Leadership Team and contribute to the overall success of the region and company
Represent the European region in the SC Global Council, collaborating to drive consistency and efficiencies across regions
Hire, train and mentor the team across technical, sales and subject matter expertise
Keep team wellbeing a priority in your leadership style
Ensure the right skill mix and geographical coverage across European markets
Serve as escalation point for technical and solution challenges
Stay hands-on—approximately 75/25 split between Director and SC activities (owning complex deals, joint pursuits with newer SCs, alternative perspectives for experienced SCs)
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Solutions Consulting practice, IFS Copperleaf sales methodology, establishment of best practices and the scaling of the SC function
Drive disciplined pipeline qualification to focus SC effort on the highest-value opportunities
Ensure collaboration between Sellers and SCs, and across regional SC teams (AMER, APJMEA)
European Context
Multi-market complexity—UK & Ireland, DACH, Benelux, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland and the Nordics, each with distinct regulatory, procurement and cultural environments
Strong client base in Energy & Utilities, Water, Rail & Transportation with significant renewal and expansion potential
Growing pipeline requiring disciplined qualification and prioritisation
Familiarity with European labour practices and ability to balance global IFS processes with regional needs
Qualifications
Qualifications & Considerations :
You are a Solutions Consultant Team Lead, Solutions Consultant or Professional Services leader with 5+ years of experience:
Natural leader who creates team morale, energy and drive across a distributed team
Proactive—has spearheaded initiatives to improve team or sales methodology
Demonstrated aptitude for mentoring and developing others
Familiar with IFS Copperleaf’s markets, or deep experience in decision analytics / enterprise asset management
Strong client-facing skills—communicates, influences and controls scope from C-level to technical teams
Technical skills matched with understanding of business processes in asset-intensive industries
Achievement-oriented—drives internal and external teams to hit targets
Experience across multiple European markets with cross-cultural business understanding
Multilingual a strong advantage (English required; other languages are a plus)
AI experience in sales or client engagement
Partner ecosystem and SI experience in European markets an advantage
