People Business Partner

THE ROLE:
The People Business Partner (PBP) is a senior-level strategic advisor who partners closely with business leaders and employees across IGEL’s U.S. organization, based in the Fort Lauderdale office. This role is instrumental in shaping organizational effectiveness, supporting leadership capability, and elevating the employee experience as IGEL continues to scale.
The PBP will anticipate people-related needs, provide practical and strategic guidance, and deliver solutions aligned with IGEL's business objectives, values, and culture.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Partnership & Organizational Support
- Partner with leaders to understand business goals and develop people strategies that support organizational effectiveness and team success.
- Provide insight and guidance to business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and team scaling.
- Leverage data and insights, including talent metrics, engagement findings and trends, to drive proactive decision-making.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture across the Fort Lauderdale office and remote teams.
- Coach leaders on best practices for team performance, engagement, communication, and recognition.
- Address employee concerns with tact, discretion, and empathy, ensuring alignment to IGEL values.
Talent Management & Leadership Development
- Advise and coach leaders on performance management, development planning, succession, and career progression.
- Implement programs that strengthen leadership capability and employee development, including the development of career paths.
- Identify talent gaps and align with managers on appropriate solutions.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
- Lead or support investigations as needed, maintaining clear documentation and communicating recommendations effectively.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Partner with People Operations to ensure smooth onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and core HR processes.
- Act as a backup to People Operations for payroll and benefits administration, supporting accuracy, timely processing, reporting, and a seamless employee experience. This involves reviewing semi-monthly payroll before submission and preparing payroll when the People Operations Partner is absent or on PTO.
- Provide guidance on federal and state employment regulations across 28-plus states including Florida, California, New York and others.
- Support policy and employee handbook interpretation, creation, updating, and communication.
People Programs & Change Management
- Implement or support the rollout of People Team initiatives, including compensation cycles and performance feedback under the IGEL Continuous Development Process, engagement surveys, and organizational changes.
- Act as a change ambassador, ensuring alignment, communication, and adoption throughout the business.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years serving as a business partner or generalist.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and state-level employment laws (multi-state experience required).
- Demonstrated success coaching leaders, resolving complex HR issues, and operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and business acumen.
- Ability to work onsite in the Fort Lauderdale office four days per week.
Preferred
- Experience in the technology, SaaS, or high-growth environment.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR.
- Experience partnering with global or distributed teams.
