THE ROLE:

As Manager IT Infrastructure (m/f/d), you will oversee the operation, stability and development of IGEL's global infrastructure. This will involve leading an international team, designing modern cloud and on-premises architectures, and ensuring a secure, high-performance, scalable system landscape.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibility for the operational management, supervision and further development of the worldwide IT infrastructure team
• Management and development of the IT Core Infrastructure team
• Administration of over 2,800 virtual machines (VMs)
• Leading the global patch teams and ensuring patch management
• Operation and expansion of the global network (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall and SD-WAN)
• Providing support for hybrid cloud and on-premises environments (Azure, VMware, M365 and Intune)
• Introduction of automation and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell)
• Monitoring, backup and disaster recovery
• Collaborating with the IT security, service desk and application teams
• Managing external service providers and technology partners
• Supporting the Director IT Infrastructure with strategy, budget planning and roadmap

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least five years' professional experience in IT infrastructure, including initial management experience

• In-depth knowledge of server, storage, networking and cloud technologies

• Experience of operating large virtualised environments (>2,800 VMs)

• Sound understanding of patch management processes and their implementation

• Very good knowledge of Linux systems (e.g. Ubuntu, Debian)

• Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Azure, M365, Intune and Active Directory)

• Experience with enterprise environments and ITIL-based processes is advantageous

• Analytical thinking, a high level of service orientation, and a structured working style

• Excellent written and spoken English skills (knowledge of German is advantageous)
