Position: Field CTO, Public Sector
Location: US - Remote
THE ROLE:
The Field CTO, Public Sector is an industry-facing technical leader who will bridge engineering, process automation, and real-world challenges with select federal government entities, i.e., DOW, Veterans Administration, Treasury, and DOS. This individual will act as the trusted technical advisor and innovation leader for Public Sector accounts, partners, and prospects. They will ensure Public Sector readiness and market fit, help shape IGEL’s product strategy to accommodate the rapid digital transformation in the Public Sector, and help customers navigate the change, ensuring IGEL is the platform of choice for secure customer endpoints.

Customer-Facing Strategy & Thought Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical executive and advisor for Public Sector accounts
- Translate agency goals (e.g., IT, cyber resilience, regulatory compliance, Zero Trust initiatives) into meaningful, scalable, compliant, and secure solution architectures
- Develop validated architectures for Public Sector environments, addressing complex data and infrastructure needs
- Architect secure end-to-end solutions using the IGEL stack (UMS, Application Portal, IGEL OS) integrated with SI and other tech partners
- Influence joint roadmaps to ensure IGEL endpoints support the latest workloads and security models
- Influence product direction and Public Sector ecosystem partnerships
- Support PoCs and pilot deployments within regulated environments; ensure alignment with 21 CFR Part 11 / Annex 11 expectations
- Act as the “voice of the customer” for IGEL engineering and product teams—informing features, compliance needs, and automation-related requirements
- Identify gaps, propose enhancements, and work cross-functionally to refine IGEL’s Public Sector solutions
- Contribute to reference architectures, whitepapers, and validated design guides for Public Sector environments
- Guide agencies on securing the industrial edge using:
- Zero Trust principles
- Least privilege access
- Endpoint attestation
- Secure supply chain requirements
- Partner with agency cybersecurity teams to demonstrate risk reduction and operational resilience
- Strong skills for engagement and influence with a broad audience including C-level, VP’s, Directors, and IT desktop service teams
- Collaboration skills for feedback to and cooperation with internal engineering
- Experience in an outbound-facing role; ability to explain strategic and tactical concepts for teams delivering applications and operating systems in digital and cloud migration journeys
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to communicate the security benefits of end-user computing scenarios leveraging virtualized resources to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Skills to act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to existing and potential customers and partners
- Deep understanding of Vmware, Citrix, and MSFT virtualization technologies and the platforms on which they are delivered
- Ability to understand complex end-user workflows and their relation to specific needs across different verticals
- Understanding of virtualization infrastructure and its relation to end-user edge OS scenarios
- Practical experience in end-user computing, virtualization, or related areas
- Ability to lead conversations with executives and then credibly map that to a technical conversation around solutions and features for technical audiences
- Ability to clearly articulate and simplify complex technical topics for non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated thought leadership and experience creating technical content.
- Track record as a conference or event speaker engaging with small to large audiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or computer science and 10+ years of relevant industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
