Position: ​Senior Accountant
Location: On-site - Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hybrid, 4 days In Office + 1 day remote

THE ROLE:
IGEL Technology is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assist with managing all aspects of the financials of our U.S. entity (we currently report under German Accepted Accounting Principles [GAAP] for group purposes and U.S. GAAP for local purposes). The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting tasks and will support the Senior Director of Finance, ensuring transactions are properly recorded in accordance with the company’s policies.

To be successful in this role, a background in Finance or Accounting and familiarity with corporate financial systems is essential. Additionally, while performing your daily tasks, you will partner closely with the accounting team in Germany. ​
  • Manage obligations to suppliers, employees, and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain a Dynamics 365 accounting system.
  • Perform extensive reviews of externally prepared accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets.
  • Processing expense reports through travel expense tool Concur.
  • Verify, allocate, and post invoices.
  • Assist with providing a consolidated analytical review of actuals and forecasts with meaningful insight/information on trends in the business on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Conduct various ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Assist with 27 states' annual filings and business personal property tax filings.
  • Assist with German and U.S. GAAP audit, and ASC 606 accounting
  • Processing accounts receivable, accounts payable and asset accounting
  • Recording of invoices, accrual and provision postings, and processing of payment transactions
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in the U.S. GAAP.
  • Analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payables/Receivables, asset accounting
  • Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar role.
  • Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions.
  • Ability to work under minimal of supervision with CAN DO attitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience with a Master’s degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • The ability to travel to the Fort Lauderdale office at least four times per week
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software i.e., Dynamics.
  • Skilled working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Vlookup, PowerPoint).
