Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into data models that lay the foundation for reporting and analytics.
  • Assist with implementation planning and delivery.
  • Model, design, and deploy data warehouses fact and dimension.
  • Design and deploy Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS);
  • Design and deploy multi-dimensional cubes for and tabular models.
  • Interface with customers to gather technical requirements.
  • Understand customer’s data flows and reporting processes around budgeting and planning processes
  • Conducting information-gathering sessions with customer
  • Document customer requirements to create maintainable applications following best practice guidelines on application and information design
  • Implement one or more of our products for new and existing customers
  • Maintain existing customer’s applications
  • Set-up, configure, and test components of customer solutions
  • Integrate products with customers’ ERP systems and other data sources under direction
  • Assist system testing and rollout activities
  • Assist with execution and reconciliation of data conversion
  • Provide acceptance testing and post-implementation support
  • Other tasks as requested by leadership
  • Record your time weekly in our PSA solution

Achievements/Goals within first 3-6 months:

  • Comprehensive four-weeks onboarding program in report authoring
  • Shadowing/Assuming a role of a Senior developer on the first project under guidance of lead architect
  • Coming up to a target billable utilization ratio in 5 months
  • Be able to conduct meetings with customers in role of finance operations to document business requirements
  • Assuming ownership of reporting projects in 3 months
  • Ability to execute project implementation plans with or without help from Project Manager
  • Regular accurate recording of worked hours and monitoring of project budget

Qualifications / Requirements*

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL/TSQL
  • 3+ years of expert understanding of MDX multi-dimensional cubes or DAX tabular models.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, including SSIS and SSAS.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and deploying Extract Transform Load (ETL) architectures and packages.
  • Expert understanding of data management including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and data modelling techniques.
  • Experience working with Azure cloud environments and reporting applications.
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in; IT with Accounting, Business Analytics or Business Systems well regarded

Preferred

  • Strong Financial Modelling skills
  • Experience in a customer services role (consulting) within the Finance function of an organization
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Corporate Performance Management (ex. Cognos, Hyperion, SSAS – understanding dimensions, hierarchies and roll-ups),
  • Understanding ERP financial software solutions
  • Understanding software life cycle
