ROLE SUMMARY:

Inspired is seeking to appoint a “Multi-skilled Facility Management Technician” to join St John’s International School on a Full-Time basis.

Founded in 1964, St. John’s International School is a private, non-profit educational institution. We are an IB continuum school committed to excellence in education through inquiry-based, child-centred teaching and learning. We are accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA).

Circa 500 students from 55 countries pursue a challenging academic curriculum that includes an emphasis on development in athletics and the arts, all within the context of the ethos and values that make St. John’s unique.

The highly educated, qualified and dedicated international teaching faculty makes the difference for the students at St. John’s. Among more than 15 nationalities represented, approximately quarter each hail from the UK, the US, Belgium and the rest of the world. More than 50% of the faculty holds advanced degrees.

English is the language of instruction throughout the school. French is taught in all grades from kindergarten at foreign language and native speaker levels. Spanish, German and Dutch are offered as world languages from Grade 8 onwards. A dual language programme in English and French is offered as an option from grades Pre-K through Grade 5. Self-taught mother tongue languages are also offered in Grades 9 to 12.

The school is situated in a pleasant residential part of French-speaking Waterloo, within easy walking distance of local shops and amenities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

L'employé polyvalent assiste le facility manager dans la gestion quotidienne des installations et des services de l’école, contribuant ainsi à maintenir un environnement sûr, fonctionnel et agréable pour les élèves et le staff.

Maintenance et réparations

  • Effectuer des travaux d'entretien courant dans les bâtiments scolaires (plomberie, électricité, menuiserie, peinture)
  • Réaliser des réparations mineures sur les équipements et le mobilier
  • Identifier et signaler au facility manager les problèmes nécessitant l'intervention de spécialistes

Gestion des espaces

  • Aider à l’aménagement des salles de classe et les espaces communs selon les besoins
  • Participer aux déménagements internes et l'installation de nouveaux équipements
  • Participer à la préparation des événements scolaires (réunions, examens, cérémonies, activités sportives)

Sécurité et conformité

  • Effectuer des contrôles réguliers des systèmes de sécurité (alarmes, extincteurs, issues de secours)
  • Veiller au respect des normes d'hygiène et de sécurité en vigueur
  • Assister le facility manager dans la mise en oeuvre des protocoles de sécurité

Support logistique

  • Réaliser les achats pour l’école (fournitures diverses), au minimum une fois par semaine ou selon les besoins
  • Gérer les stocks de fournitures et de matériel d'entretien
  • Coordonner la réception et la distribution du courrier et des colis

Ce poste polyvalent au sein d'une école internationale offre une grande variété de tâches et requiert une adaptabilité constante pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques d'un environnement scolaire multicultural. L'employé jouera un rôle crucial en assistant le facility manager dans le maintien d'un cadre d'apprentissage optimal pour la communauté scolaire.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Compétences requises:

  • Fiable, organisé et autonome
  • Connaissances de base en anglais
  • Polyvalence technique (notions en plomberie, électricité, menuiserie)
  • Capacité à gérer une liste de coures
  • Capacité d'organisation et sens des priorités
  • Aptitude à travailler en équipe
  • Réactivité et flexibilité face aux imprévus
  • Connaissance des normes de sécurité et d'hygiène en milieu scolaire
  • Discrétion et professionnalisme

Formation et expérience

  • Diplôme professionnel dans un domaine technique (maintenance des bâtiments, plomberie, menuiserie, etc.)
  • Maîtrise des outils informatiques de base (MS Office)
  • Permis B
  • Expérience préalable de 2 à 3 ans dans un poste similaire, idéalement en milieu scolaire
  • Formations continues en sécurité et nouvelles technologies du bâtiment
