ROLE SUMMARY:
At the forefront of British education internationally, King’s College School La Moraleja is seeking to appoint an inspiring, collaborative and forward-thinking professional to the position of Teacher of Science, on a permanent basis, ideally with a focus on Chemistry or Physics, for pupils in our upper school aged between 11 and 16. Situated in Madrid’s most exclusive and sought-after neighbourhood, King’s La Moraleja is a private British school that combines academic rigour with a strong sense of community to deliver a transformative learning experience to its pupils from Pre-Nursery up to Year 11.
This is a teaching role, designed to foster a love of Science, whilst ensuring academic excellence in the faculty. The post holder will be responsible for the teaching of Science, ideally with a focus on Chemistry or Physics, across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching & Learning: Deliver high-quality Science lessons (with a focus on Chemistry or Physics) across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of Science and ensuring academic excellence.

Curriculum Development: Assist in developing and implementing the Science curriculum and teaching resources in alignment with school procedures.

Quality Assurance: Ensure high teaching and learning standards through a robust, supportive, and challenging quality assurance program.

Leadership & Support: Lead by example as an excellent classroom practitioner, support and develop team members, and ensure adherence to school policies.

Student Progress: Ensure students meet the school’s attainment and progress targets.

Health & Safety & Safeguarding: Work with school leadership to ensure compliance with national standards for health, safety, and safeguarding.

General Duties: Teach up to 24 lessons per week, assist with cover duties and assemblies, and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in student welfare.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
The ideal candidate will be a passionate and experienced Science teacher (Chemistry or Physics) with at least 2 years of teaching experience in a British National Curriculum school. They should have a Bachelor’s Degree and QTS (a Master’s or leadership training is desirable).
They will be an excellent classroom practitioner, committed to student success and academic excellence, with a track record of outstanding teaching and strong results. Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to mentor colleagues, engage students, and develop the curriculum.
The candidate should also be data-driven, IT proficient, and committed to safeguarding, ensuring high standards in teaching and student well-being.
