ROLE SUMMARY:

The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality education, development, and care to children while fostering meaningful partnerships with families. This role requires an innovative and nurturing approach to teaching, ensuring a stimulating and supportive learning environment in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Reddam Early Learning School is a highly respected, premium preschool in Sydney, with three beautiful campuses in Woollahra, Lindfield and St Leonards. This role is based in St Leonards and is a permanent, full time position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs based on EYLF and NQS guidelines.
  • Maintain ongoing records of children’s development and learning journeys through portfolios and digital documentation.
  • Design and create age-appropriate, inspiring, and engaging learning environments.
  • Guide and collaborate with a team of educators to deliver high-quality early learning experiences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families to support each child’s learning and development.
  • Follow the Primary Care-Giving Approach to provide consistent, individualized support for children.
  • Uphold and advocate for the principles of the Reggio Emilia Philosophy within the learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures of the institution, as well as Australian Early Childhood Code of Ethics.
  • Lead room meetings, attend staff meetings, and participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions, including communication with parents, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by ensuring the wellbeing of all children in the learning space.
  • Participate in the daily physical tasks of setting up, cleaning, and organising learning materials and play areas.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive knowledge of EYLF, NQS, and The Education and Care Services National Regulations.
  • Experience in planning and delivering early childhood educational programs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with parents, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Ability to reflect, evaluate, and adapt teaching practices based on observations and assessments.
  • Experience in using digital technology for documentation and parent communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualification as per regulatory requirements).
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma training certification.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.

  • Willingness to participate in meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Adherence to appropriate dress code and safety requirements, including sun-safe policies.
