The purpose of this role is

  • to lead and manage the strategic direction of the Channel Acquiring business
  • to identify the business opportunity and drive the business growth
  • to maintain and grow a merchant ecosystem
  • to maintain and grow an agent network across the country

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve business targets, including revenue, new customer acquisition, active customers, and other key performance indicators.
  • Define the strategic and key activities and monitor the execution regularly by providing all necessary support and collaboration with teams.
  • Identify the customer needs and business opportunities, and develop/optimise the proper solutions to win the market.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the teams of In-store Acquiring, Agent Acquiring, Industry Acquiring and MSME Acquiring.
  • Set performance metrics and goals for the team and drive a culture of high performance and customer-centrality.
  • Foster collaboration across teams such as sales, marketing, product, engineering, operations, and finance to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Product Development & Innovation:

  • Oversee the design and development of new products and services for the Channel Acquiring business
  • Drive market analysis to understand market trends, customer pain points, needs, and challenges.
  • Conceptualise, build business case and pricing models to enhance the product capabilities and stay ahead of the competition
  • Push and ensure the adaptation and deployment of products/services

Operational & Sales Excellence:

  • Provide sales support on quality leads in applicable market sectors.
  • Ensure alignment with the operations and support team to ensure a smooth onboarding, transactions, and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal compliance and audit requirements.
  • Ensure the reports and performance dashboards to track progress toward goals, including revenue, customer acquisition, retention and more.

Collaboration with External Partners:

  • Identify and develop the strategic partners and ensure a good relationship.
  • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to build winning products for the business segment.

EDUCATION

General Education

  • University (First degree)/ HND, an MBA/MSC would be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

General Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial technology industry with 4+ years at a managerial level.
  • In-depth understanding of the payment industry and agency banking sector.
