Job Summary:

As part of the Sales organisation, the Sales Engineering Manager shall possess exemplary leadership, working alongside regional leadership and fellow regional Sales Engineering leads to maintain a strategic vision. This will involve developing and leading a regional team of Sales Engineers that can gain prospects' technical confidence and ensure that the Sales Engineering team works seamlessly with the sales organisation. As part of their responsibility the Sales Engineering Manager will work closely with the Regional VPs, Sales Managers, Marketing teams and Technical Services leaders. This will involve championing and aligning the SE organisation with the Regional Sales Model to drive both existing and new product growth. An essential requirement for this is commercial and technical guidance of the local SE teams.

The Sales Engineering Manager must be able to hire, motivate, develop, and retain quality staff who are capable of continuing and enhancing Ivanti success within the region.

The Sales Engineering Manager must take a prominent role in evangelising the Ivanti vision and message within the local SE team.


  • Leadership - The candidate needs to show leadership at a regional level. Ensuring the local Sales Engineering function has strong representation within the regional business, supporting the Regional Director in the process.
  • Channel Enablement – Develop a local Technical Enablement Plan to ensure the Corporate Channel & SI plan can be implemented within region. Ensure an increase in the regional channel partner and SI competency, allowing them to become more self-sufficient in creating and closing sales opportunities.
  • On-Boarding – Manage the local on-boarding of new Sales/Sales Engineer’s enabling them to be brought up to speed in a set period of time.
  • Training, Development & Career Progression – Ensure that every Sales Engineer individual has an effective career and development path to follow, thus allowing for consistent progression through Ivanti and enabling regional succession planning.
  • Communication – Ensure that all communication paths both in and out of the local Sales Engineering team are developed and maintained, this will include communicating with the other Sales Engineering Managers and ensuring that corporate strategy is translated to work within region.
  • Matrix Performance Management – Create and maintain a regional matrix to assess current levels of skill set throughout the Sales Engineering team, including both technical and commercial ability.
  • Sales Demonstrations – Ensure Sales Engineering individuals are capable and have the relevant resources to carry out an effective Ivanti live demonstration.
  • Commercial Awareness – Manage and maintain a level of commercial awareness within the Sales Engineering team, ensuring all members of the Sales Engineering community can articulate Ivanti‘s propositions at CxO level. This program will enable Sales Engineering to broaden and help secure the potential customer opportunity.
  • Culture – Champion the Ivanti culture within the Sales Engineering team to create a high performing business with an appreciation the core values as part of the day to day business.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Sales Engineering Management
  • Experience providing technical demonstrations, pilots and proof-of-concepts to a varied audience.
  • Experience with software-based solution deployments, configuration, and integration
  • Excellent presentation skills in person and using virtual demonstration products such as Webex, MS Teams.
  • Ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff, managers and executives in customer environments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both languages Japanese and English
  • Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
  • Experience using Salesforce.com
