What You Will Be Doing:
- Design, maintain, and enhance robust semantic data models in Power BI, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance.
- Build visually compelling, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable business insights for multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and analysts to translate requirements into well-structured semantic models, datasets, and effective dashboards.
- Implement and optimize DAX calculations, relationships, and hierarchies within Power BI to meet diverse reporting and dashboarding needs.
- Review, refactor, and implement improvements in both semantic models and dashboards for efficiency, clarity, and best practices.
- Ensure all models and dashboards align with governance, security, and data quality standards.
- Diagnose dashboard-related issues, including data or performance bottlenecks, and implement scalable solutions.
- Support the onboarding and enablement of users for self-service BI using high-quality semantic models and reusable dashboards.
- Partner with data engineering to optimize Power BI Dataflows and connections from Snowflake to Power BI.
- Provide technical mentorship to BI analysts and power users on model and dashboard best practices.
- Stay current on Power BI features and industry trends, proactively recommending new capabilities and enhancements.
To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have:
- 5+ years of experience with Power BI development.
- 5+ years in a Data Analytics role at a B2B SaaS company.
- Demonstrated expertise in building, maintaining, and improving Power BI semantic models.
- Strong knowledge of DAX, M, relational database modeling, query performance optimization, and other advanced Power BI features/functionalities.
- Ability to translate business questions and requests into an effective and efficient data story.
- Proven DAX troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, Dax Studio, Salesforce, and Pendo.
- Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and master data management.
- A portfolio of Power BI dashboards that you have personally built yourself (example dashboards that are formatted as .PBIX, .JPEG, or .PNG files are acceptable).
