Why We Need you!
Ivanti is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Software Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator with deep technical expertise in the Java ecosystem, this role involves defining and executing the strategy for multiple product releases, managing projects and ensuring goals are met by applying appropriate resources. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the full development lifecycle in a cloud-native environment, with proven experience in AWS or Azure. This includes guiding the team in building and maintaining applications using microservices architecture and containerization technologies. Beyond technical leadership, the manager will be a key contributor to building the organization by mentoring junior team members, participating in the recruiting and hiring process, and fostering a collaborative culture to meet Ivanti's objectives.
What You Will Be Doing:
· Lead and manage a team of Java developers, overseeing their work on application development, maintenance, and support.
· Guide the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable Java-based solutions that align with business needs.
· Work with stakeholders, product managers, and other departments to define project scope and deliverables. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a collaborative and results-driven environment.
· Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices through regular code reviews to ensure high-quality software and organizational guidelines.
· Mentor and coach team members, providing technical guidance to support their continuous professional growth and skill development.
· Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget by effectively managing resources and timelines.
· Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within applications.
· Responsible for resource allocation, hiring, training, and overall team development.
· Stay current with the latest Java technologies, tools, and industry trends to keep the team at the forefront of innovation.
· Serve as a technical escalation point, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues as they arise.
To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have:
· Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
· Overall, 12-14 year's experience and minimum of 3-4 years of managing multi-disciplinary development teams, with a background in Java development and team leadership.
· Strong proficiency in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs.
· Hands-on experience with Kafka for data pipelines and streaming applications, and strong knowledge of Redis for caching and real-time data processing.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
· Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Angular or React is a plus.
· Proven project management skills and extensive experience with Agile methodologies.
· The ability to prioritize, multitask, and effectively manage multiple projects at the same time.
· Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
