Position

Lanas have an exciting opportunity for a Data Migration Specialist to join our busy Service Delivery Team. To maintain our excellent reputation, we require a courteous and efficient candidate who is looking to progress their career in a dynamic Service Delivery environment.


This is an excellent, exciting opportunity to excel your career in a fast paced, rapidly expanding, global company. This role will report directly to the Data Migration Manager and be part of a team of five.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of data from existing clients and third party software.
  • Preparation of data for importing into the company's applications.
  • Ability to follow and execute Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and working with the team to iterate and refine the existing data migration procedures.
  • Analysis, preparation and execution of data ETL services.
  • Monitor and report on data conversions, comparing input / output information and reconciling information.
  • Development of programs and scripts to assist in the transformation of data between existing software.
  • Working to agreed timescales and meeting all data conversion deliverable timelines, working closely with the Development, Data Testing, Project Management, Customer Service and Training Teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:


  • Third level qualification in IT, computer science, or relevant field, required
  • Have excellent overall SQL/T-SQL knowledge
  • Work experience in a field that emphasises technical, creative and analytical skills
  • Experience with relational databases – e.g. Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
  • Experience with Python and C# – an advantage
  • Be able to communicate clearly in an efficient manner.
  • Willingness to work together with co-workers, in finding solutions in order to improve the organization.
  • The ability to communicate with, and appeal to, the characteristics of different people, both professionally as informally, in such a way that the organizational goals are met and executed.
