Job Description

The AR & Collections Specialist is responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly accounts receivable activities. The primary responsibility is to reach out to clients via telephone and email to inquire about past due accounts. The Reps responsibilities include researching client inquiries, interacting with other departments (Sales & Cash Apps) to obtain information and then relay the resolution or additional information to the client.

In this role you’ll:

  • Initiate collection calls and emails.

  • Monitor A/R aging and customer accounts to minimize past due accounts.

  • Process credit card, check, ACH, and money order payments for accounts receivable

  • Work with Client Services on escalating collection actions.

  • Distribute A/R aging reports and discuss issues with Accounting Manager, Controller and Client Services.

  • Generate A/R statements.

  • Cross train with other AR & Collection Specialists.

  • Support billing function when needed.

  • Protect company proprietary and confidential information.

  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects to ensure timely deliverables and excellent customer experience.

  • Coordinates with various team members throughout the organization to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.

  • Provides essential research to resolve issues.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Communicate comfortably and effectively with customers and other employees verbally and in e-mail

  • Associate’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable and billing

  • Ability to work independently for routine tasks.

  • Ability to apply basic accounting concepts and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, etc.

  • Ability to multi-task and to adhere to deadlines.

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Ability to handle high volume of transactions.

  • Willing to accept new assignments and quick in learning new tasks and skills.
