Job Description

Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a key member of the Momentive Solutions Engineering organization, supporting a high-volume, fast-paced sales cycle (typically 90 days or less). This role partners closely with Account Executives to bring association domain knowledge together with product expertise to help membership-based organizations evaluate and adopt Momentive Software Association Management Software (AMS) solutions.

General Function

The Solutions Engineer demonstrates how Momentive’s products support real-world association operations, including membership management, engagement, events, committees, reporting, and more. The role focuses on translating association workflows and challenges into compelling, value-driven demonstrations and conversations.

This individual acts as a trusted advisor during the evaluation process, connecting product capabilities to how associations actually work, while also contributing feedback that improves demos, messaging, and product direction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver high-volume product demonstrations tailored to association-specific use cases (membership, renewals, events, engagement, reporting).

  • Partner with Account Executives to support opportunities in a fast-moving sales cycle (90 days or less).

  • Assess prospect needs by drawing on direct experience working in or with associations, including common pain points and operational workflows.

  • Translate association goals into clear product value, rather than leading with technical depth.

  • Serve as a subject-matter resource on association common needs and constraints during sales conversations.

  • Support RFP responses and follow-up questions with an association-first perspective.

  • Participate in demo scheduling, preparation, and coordination.

  • Provide product walkthroughs or light training during evaluations or pilot engagements.

  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of demo environments, scenarios, and demo videos that reflect real association use cases.

  • Capture customer and prospect feedback and relay insights to Product and Go-To-Market teams.

  • Troubleshoot demo or environment-related issues as needed.

  • Assist with customer escalations when previous demo or other known context is helpful.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience working as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical sales, or working with associations or membership-based organizations.

  • Experience using or supporting an Association Management Software (AMS) is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical & Business Skills

  • Comfortable learning and demonstrating software products while on camera.

  • Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with CRM systems.

  • Ability to explain product value clearly without relying on heavy technical jargon.

Other Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and shift priorities.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Customer-first mindset with a consultative approach.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

  • Collaborative, coachable, and eager to learn.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office or home-office environment with extended periods of computer usage.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Essential Functions

  • Frequent computer and desk work.

  • Regular communication through speaking, listening, and written channels.

  • Occasional walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
