POSITION SUMMARY:
As a manager in our global sales organization, this individual will manage an Public Housing sales team dedicated to building a strong pipeline of net new and whitespace opportunities that lead to quota attainment in the small-to-medium business segment. This individual will coach/grow their team by reinforcing proven sales skills, sales processes and consultative selling strategies. A major focus of any sales role is on customer retention and building/maintaining strong customer relationships, including ensuring a smooth transition from prospect/acquisition status (Account Executive relationship lead) to client/retention (Account Manager relationship lead). Our sales leaders work together to share ideas, strategies, and effectively plan for continued growth of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve/exceed net new and retention quota targets by positioning MRI as a leader in our space.
- Ensure sales reps maintain/exceed activity metrics and update activities in Salesforce, MRI’s CRM tool.
- Ensure sales reps consistently maintain a pipeline at metric or above, as measured in Salesforce.
- Work with senior leadership to establish a clear and effective plan for growing MRI customer base, including whitespace opportunities and acquisition opportunities, and minimizing attrition.
- Work with the sales team to share ideas, knowledge and new business development and expansion strategies across all product offerings.
- Participate in market analysis to determine client and prospect needs, and competitive positioning.
- Identify potential marketing channels/segments and opportunities to build awareness of MRI’s products that will generate inquiries and sales.
- Participate in regularly scheduled training sessions to facilitate ongoing learning for themselves and their team.
- Offer support, advice, encouragement, motivation, coaching and/or information to Public Housing sales reps to help them meet/exceed their sales objectives.
- Meet with the entire team and individual team members regularly to ensure each team member is meeting goals and expectations, including but not limited to, documented weekly field coaching (performed at a rep’s desk, manager office or conference room), weekly service observe coaching, weekly forecast and pipeline reviews.
- Work with marketing to develop effective marketing campaigns.
- Perform other tasks or projects as needed/assigned by leadership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- 1-5 years successful sales experience in a consultative business to business sales environment, with the ability to converse with clients and prospects at all levels, including the executive or owner level.
- 1-3 years successful sales leadership experience in a business to business sales environment preferred.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills and a desire to lead and motivate a team.
- Proven ability to forecast accurately, build/maintain pipeline, and develop and execute on plans to consistently achieve quota.
- Ability to communicate effectively (internally and externally) and to work cross-functionally to achieve success.
- A strong desire to learn, to accept constructive feedback and follow directions to improve leadership skills and quota attainment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and deliver powerful presentations.
- Demonstrated computer systems knowledge, including web technologies, CRM, employee self-service and a general understanding of larger business system applications.
- Knowledge of the residential and commercial real estate industry is a plus.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Personal credit card, or functional equivalent, is required for business expenses which shall be reimbursed pursuant to company policy.
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
