Position Overview:

MRI Software is seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead and oversee the EMEA billing function. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing across a global client base while driving continuous improvement in billing processes, systems, and team capability.

The Billing Manager will manage and develop a team of Billing Analysts, partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sales, and Revenue Operations, and act as the primary escalation point for complex billing matters. This role plays a critical part in revenue integrity, client satisfaction, and month-end close.

We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Cape Town office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Billing team to ensure high performance, engagement, and accountability.

  • Track, measure, and report on team KPIs; use data to identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans.

  • Own end-to-end billing operations, ensuring invoices and credit memos are accurate, timely, and aligned to executed agreements.

  • Support month-end close by meeting all billing and reporting deadlines.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows and improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Oversee billing inquiry and ticket processing to ensure timely and accurate resolution.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex billing issues, both internal and client related.

  • Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sales, Revenue Operations, and FP&A.

Skills

  • Strong people leadership and coaching capability, managing of a team 6 to 10.

  • Excellent financial and billing acumen.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, NetSuite, and billing/ERP systems.

Education

  • High school diploma required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related financial operations.

  • SaaS billing experience strongly preferred.
