About the Role

The IT Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for providing execution-level operational support for MRI’s global cloud and infrastructure environments. This role focuses on hands-on systems administration, infrastructure automation, monitoring, asset management, and IT service management activities to ensure stable, secure, and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for cloud and infrastructure platforms, including Linux and Windows systems.

  • Execute infrastructure automation activities using Ansible.

  • Perform Linux server administration, including patching and troubleshooting.

  • Administer enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.

  • Support IT asset discovery and inventory management.

  • Resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM tools.

  • Support audit and compliance activities.

  • Maintain documentation and SOPs.

  • Collaborate with global Cloud Operations teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, and enterprise cloud infrastructure management.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, with solid working knowledge of Amazon Web Services across networking, IAM, compute, and storage.

  • Proven track record in managing and supporting highly available, reliable SaaS production environments.

  • Proficiency in Terraform/ Ansible for multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning and automation.

  • Deep expertise in cloud networking architecture, including secure design, implementation, and optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls in cloud environments.

  • Strong understanding of hybrid networking concepts, including BGP, UDRs, and route table configurations.

  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes, particularly AKS, with exposure to EKS.

  • Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident management within production systems.

  • Experience working in regulated and compliance-driven environments.

  • Proficient in scripting using PowerShell, Bash, and Python to drive automation and operational efficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of multi-version Linux environments and monitoring/observability tools.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.

  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions and influence cloud operational standards and best practices.

  • Availability to work flexible shifts (including night shifts) in a 24x7 support environment

Pre-Requisites:

Experience in Cloud Operations, Linux/Windows administration, Ansible, ITSM tools.

Preferred: Terraform, scripting, ITIL certification.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related area
