Position Overview

MRI is seeking a highly organised, detail-obsessed School Support Administrator to join the Data team in Johannesburg. This role supports existing school clients by managing their screening and verification processes end to end, ensuring all documentation for Child Protection and the National Register of Sex Offenders is accurate, complete, and submitted within strict deadlines.

We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Johannesburg office.

This is a fast-paced, process-driven, and detail‑intensive role. Success depends on precision, speed, and consistency. Strong Excel capability, excellent administrative competence, and confident, professional communication with clients are non‑negotiable.
The workload is steady and demanding. Mistakes cause delays. Delays impact clients. Falling behind is not an option. This role requires constant focus, discipline, and attention to detail every single day.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the full screening and verification process for existing school clients

  • Guide schools on documentation requirements and submission standard

  • Ensure all documentation is correct, complete, and compliant before submission

  • Manage paperwork from criminal check enquiry through to final submission

  • Capture, update, and maintain accurate data records tracked in Excel

  • Monitor turnaround times and proactively follow up on outstanding items

  • Track progress across multiple clients simultaneously while meeting tight turnaround times

  • Liaise professionally with schools, registrars, and internal stakeholders

  • Ensure all submissions meet required standards and deadlines

  • Handle multiple active cases simultaneously in a fast paced environment

  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel (1–2 nights away from home) when required

  • Must be comfortable travelling independently, either by using their own vehicle or flying, depending on business needs

  • Flexibility to travel at short notice when required to support operational priorities

Skills & Competencies

This role requires consistency, focus, and precision. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Strong administrative and process coordination skills

  • Solid Excel proficiency (tracking, filtering, managing data)

  • Clear, professional client communication skills

  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods

  • Confidence working under pressure with time‑sensitive tasks

  • A methodical, process‑driven working style

This Role Is NOT for You If:

  • You struggle with repetitive, detail‑heavy administrative work

  • You find it difficult to maintain focus and accuracy for extended periods

  • You are uncomfortable being held accountable for accuracy, quality, and turnaround times

  • You prefer flexible, loosely structured environments with minimal process and oversight

This Role IS for You If:

  • You are highly detail‑focused, methodical, and process‑driven

  • You are comfortable working in Excel for most of the day

  • You enjoy structure, clear workflows, checklists, and defined processes

  • You can maintain a fast pace without sacrificing accuracy

  • You communicate clearly, follow up consistently, and do not require constant reminders

  • You take pride in doing things correctly every time, not just quickly

  • You are able to take ownership of your responsibilities and processes without being micromanaged

Requirements

  • Matric certificate

  • Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport as the role includes travel to clients within and outside of Gauteng and occasional travel to registrars, may be required.

  • Strong Computer literacy in Office 365 — especially Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and professionally with schools, registrars, and internal stakeholders

  • Strong telephone presence and interpersonal skills, handling high volumes of client interaction confidently and efficiently

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the discipline to follow processes precisely and identify errors before submission

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, managing multiple clients, documents, and deadlines simultaneously without losing control

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, maintaining speed without compromising accuracy

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and follow structured workflows in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment

  • A friendly, professional, and resilient approach, even during demanding periods and high workloads

  • Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback, using it to improve performance, accuracy, and efficiency
