Internship Program Overview:
At Netsmart our internship program is called our "Futures Program" because we truly believe that you are our FUTURE. This program will be a 8-week program based at the Netsmart in Overland Park, Kansas. The FUTURES Program includes a balance between on-the-job learning, hands on client-based work, professional development opportunities, leadership exposure and several social/networking events throughout the summer. If you aren't local to the Kansas City metro, are we will have housing options for you available (certain criteria will have to be met to qualify for housing).

Responabilites

  • Administer and troubleshoot multi-site Linux/UNIX and Windows-based Netsmart application environments for both turn-key and cloud clients.
  • Exposure with monitoring systems through automation tools/dashboards
  • Base level understanding of enterprise database systems such as MS-SQL, Intersystems’ Caché, and Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures—relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Complete various documentation assignments, as assigned by departmental management or team leaders, including white papers, work instructions, wiki articles, client documentation, site sheets, knowledge base articles, purchased product documentation, client communication, and other document types.
  • Work within the HIPAA and ISO 27000 series security and privacy governess models in implementing and securing client environments.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma (or GED) and working toward relevant technical certification, training program, or associate degree.
  • Must possess creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Must work well within a time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in written as well as verbal English essential.
  • Works well under pressure.
