Revenue Accountant

Responsibilities
Support monthly accounting and billing operations for a timely and accurate close process
Review contract setups in the accounting system for proper billing and revenue recognition
Process billings from a variety of sources per contract term (recurring, renewals, milestone billing)
Assist operations managers to ensure timely billing of event-based milestones
Perform detailed reviews of revenue and billing as part of the normal monthly close
Prepare journal entries to support monthly close activities
Review client contracts for proper revenue recognition (POC, milestone, SaaS, perpetual/term)
Learn and gain and understanding of software revenue recognition principles, ensuring compliance with ASC 606
Create detailed revenue schedules as needed for management and supporting internal teams with ad-hoc requests
Partner with internal teams and business partners to define, establish and implement accounting processes and procedures
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent relevant work experience
Demonstrated technical knowledge and thorough understanding of GAAP
High-level of proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc)
Highly motivated with the ability to shift priorities, work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
Preferred
Revenue recognition experience in a software or technology company that has complex and recurring revenue streams
Experience working with cloud-based ERP systems (Great Plains, Softrax, FinancialForce, Oracle, Workday, etc.)
Experience with SalesForce or other CRMs
