Responsibilities

• Develop and lead implementation of database monitoring, operational processes and procedures/standards that will continually improve the operation of the whole environment.

• Lead and develop best practices for troubleshooting and resolving database infrastructure problems, using native monitoring and third-party tools.

• Conduct advanced analysis of index and statistics needs and provide recommendations on improvements needed to Sr. Leadership.

• Collaborate with technical teams on the appropriate database design for Engineers database-related solutions for various projects and operational needs

• Design secure solutions and create implementation and support models for Cloud and Hybrid technologies.

• Set strategy and expectations for ETL (extract, transform, load) best practices in the creation of the database

• Mentors and coaches less experienced associates on best practices.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

• At least 5 years of Postgres server management, build, configuration and support work experience.

• 3 years experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)

• In-depth knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures—relies on knowledge, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of communicating with non-technical and technical teams and Sr. Executive Leaders.

• Ability to provide technical leadership and guide a team of engineers.

• Excellent organizational, project management abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Code writing skills in one or more of the following languages: T-SQL, Python, Ansible, Powershell.

Preferred

• Cloud or DBA Certifications

• IT Security Certification
