Senior Database Administrator-Cache

Responsibilities
Develop database monitoring, operational processes and procedures/standards that will continually improve the operation of the whole environment.
Perform database administration and configuration for SQL Server.
Troubleshoot and resolve database infrastructure problems, using native monitoring and third-party tools.
Tune and optimize T-SQL code. Make well-thought-out decisions on the most complex or ambiguous database code issues.
Conduct advanced analysis of index and statistics needs.
Manage backups, restores and recovery models.
Configure, manage, and recommend High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
Communicate and coordinate with several teams of engineers from operations, support, engineering, networking and security.
Act as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced associates.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of SQL server management, build, configuration and support work experience.
Cache and SQL database experience
At least 2 years experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
In-depth knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures—relies on knowledge, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of communicating with non-technical and technical teams
Ability to take initiative & manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Excellent organizational, project management abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a software related discipline
Certification in one or more commercial database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDO or Cassandra.
