As the Lead of Content Marketing Department you will be managing the following teams: Content Marketing, SEO, and Social Media. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance our online presence, drive engagement, and build a vibrant community around our brand. You will lead a team of creative professionals, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with our overall marketing objectives and business goals. Additionally, you will manage budgets for your respective areas to ensure efficient allocation of resources and maximize ROI.

While this role won't involve hands-on execution of SEO, social media, and community management tasks, it will require a strong understanding of the underlying principles and algorithms in each area. The focus will be on providing strategic leadership and guidance to the teams responsible for executing these activities, ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives and effective engagement with target audiences across various digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute integrated content marketing, SEO, social media, and community engagement strategies to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and foster audience engagement.
  • Create tailored content to resonate with the audience’s interests, needs, and preferences.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to optimize strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the Content Marketing, SEO, and Social Media teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals, objectives, and KPIs for each team member, providing guidance and support to ensure individual and collective success.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities to nurture talent and enhance team capabilities.

Budget Management:

  • Manage budgets for content marketing, SEO, social media, and community initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Track and analyze spending, ROI, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing investments and make data-driven decisions for future budget allocations.

Content Creation and Distribution:

  • Oversee the development of high-quality, compelling content that educates, entertains, and inspires our audience across various channels, including blogs, websites, social media platforms, and community forums.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners to develop content strategies aligned with marketing objectives, target audience preferences, and industry trends.
  • Implement effective content distribution strategies to maximize reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Lead a team of content creators, providing strategic guidance on content ideation, creation, and distribution across various channels.
  • Offer direction on the creation of engaging and informative content formats, including articles, videos, infographics, and more, to drive audience engagement and brand visibility.
  • Ensure content production schedules are developed and adhered to, with timely delivery of high-quality content that meets established standards and objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and publication of issues for two company-owned digital magazines targeting different audiences, ensuring content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with audience interests and preferences.
  • Collaborate with writers, designers, and other stakeholders to develop compelling magazine content.
  • Provide strategic direction on topics, and content mix for each magazine, considering audience demographics, market trends, and business objectives.
  • Monitor magazine performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize content.

SEO Optimization:

  • Lead and supervise the team of SEO professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge of basic principles, best practices, and Google algorithms to execute optimization tasks effectively.
  • Provide strategic guidance on SEO initiatives, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical SEO, to enhance organic search visibility and drive traffic to the company's digital assets.
  • Oversee the tracking and analysis of organic search performance metrics, such as keyword rankings, organic traffic, and click-through rates, to assess the effectiveness of SEO strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and updates in search engine algorithms, sharing insights and recommendations with the team to adapt strategies accordingly and maintain competitive advantage.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop social media strategies to build brand awareness, foster community engagement, and drive user acquisition.
  • Manage the specialist responsible for executing social media and community management activities, offering direction on leveraging social media algorithms and best practices to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Provide expertise on optimizing a YouTube channel and videos for search, ensuring content is discoverable and appealing to the target audience.
  • Familiarize yourself with the dynamics of engaging with tech communities on platforms like Spiceworks, Reddit, and others, providing guidance on effective communication strategies to build relationships and foster engagement.
  • Monitor community metrics to gauge the effectiveness of engagement efforts, providing insights and recommendations to optimize strategies and enhance community participation.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (X+ years) in content marketing, SEO, social media management, and community engagement, with a track record of driving tangible results in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing principles, strategies, and best practices, with a focus on content marketing, SEO, and social media optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Atarget="_blank" hrefs, Semrush) to track performance, measure ROI, and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail, able to develop innovative content ideas and campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and platform changes, with a willingness to continuously learn and adapt strategies accordingly.
